Spotlight Theatre

Art Belongs to Everyone

Our Values:

At Spotlight Theatre we can summarize our values in three points; Affordability, Accessibility, and Ensemble.

Affordability. We are a non-profit company. We do not believe that cost should be a factor in any family’s participation in our program, which is why our staff is made up entirely of carefully chosen volunteers and we rely mostly on donations to pay for program expenses.

Accessibility. We give every kid an equal opportunity to act, without constraints such as specific skill sets or experience. There are no restrictions to signing up, and our auditions are only for role placement with no cuts.

Ensemble. Building community is one of our top priorities. We work in small casts with an approximate 1:3 director-actor ratio, and set aside time in our rehearsal process specifically for cast bonding. We always carefully adapt our own scripts to ensure that every actor has an interesting character with plenty of lines, that way all our actors get their moment in the Spotlight!
